Downtown Institute Session II: Retail Events & Merchandising

Creative retail events and effective merchandising, when done right, can make a significant positive difference to a business owner's bottom line. Learn from four seasoned "destination" business owners innovative strategies and great collaborative ideas on how to thrive downtown, even in this challenging economy.
Our speakers are: Halcyon Blake, Owner, Halcyon Yarn, Immediate Past President of Bath Main Street Board of Directors; Mike Fear, Owner, Now You're Cooking, Past President of Bath Main Street Board of Directors; Susan Porter, Owner, Maine Coast Book Shop, Winner of the New England Independent Booksellers award in 2008 for the Best Book Shop in New England; and Shannon Haines, Executive Director, Waterville Main Street.
Advance registration is required.
$35 per session
$25 per session for Main Street Maine communities, Maine Downtown Network communities, and Maine Development Foundation members
Anyone who attends all six sessions will receive a complimentary registration for the final session in December.

COMING FROM SOUTH TAKE MAINE TURNPIKE EXIT 109
Bear right towards Augusta and merge onto Western Avenue. Go straight through all the traffic lights. After a few miles you will approach Memorial Circle (rotary). Take third exit off rotary. Go straight to the next light. Take a right and go across the Calumet (Father Curran) Bridge to traffic light. Take a right at the light. This will bring you directly into City Center parking lot.
COMING FROM NORTH TAKE MAINE TURNPIKE EXIT 112
Take left onto Rt. 27. Go straight through traffic lights. After a few miles you will see a Cumberland Farms store on the left with a blinking light directly after. Take a left (Bond Street). Then take a right at stop sign (Water Street). Go to traffic light; take a left (Water Street) go across the Calumet (Father Curran) Bridge to traffic light. Take a right at the light. This will bring you directly into City Center parking lot.
