Leadership Unplugged is designed to be a series of conversations with Maine leaders around issues of economic importance. It provides opportunities for leaders from all over Maine and across sectors to come together in intimate, relaxed settings to discuss the pertinent issues of the day and build the relationships that will allow us to move Maine forward.

MDF is excited about our 2012 series. Our focus this year is "Empowering Maine People to Power Maine's Economy."  For that to happen, Maine people need to be educated, they need to be healthy, they need to have outlets for their creativity, and they need to be engaged in Maine in a way that keeps them here and attracts others to our great state.  We have lined up four excellent speakers:  Michael Dubyak, President & CEO, Wright Express (Feb. 9); Michael Duguay, Director of Development, City of Augusta (March 14); Charles Hewett, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, The Jackson Laboratory (April 10); Charles "Wick" Johnson, President & Owner, Kennebec Technologies (May 9).

MDF Invites You to Attend - Session 1:

Thursday, February 9, 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
Importance of Increasing Interest & Competency in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Education for Maine Students
Bowdoin College, Brunswick

Our conversation will be with Michael Dubyak, President & CEO of Wright Express.  Wright Express has over 850 associates across the globe delivering powerful fleet, prepaid and corporate payment solutions, transaction processing and information management programs to a range of companies spanning many industries.  This innovative technological leader depends on a highly trained, educated workforce to deliver its products and services.  Mike will speak to those challenges and where he sees opportunities for Maine to produce that highly skilled workforce that willdrive the economy of today and the future.
