Main Street Bath,eNews Weekly - Jennifer Geiger
Date: | June 10th, 2010 |
Bath was well represented at the 10th Annual Maine Downtown Conference on June 4th, with twelve attendees drawn from the downtown business community, the City of Bath, and Main Street Bath. The Maine Downtown Center, Maine Preservation and GrowSmart Maine teamed up this year to present a dynamic two-day conference showcasing the economic value of downtown revitalization and historic preservation. Congratulations are in order for JR Maxwell’s Restaurant for winning the Maine Downtown Center Community Spirit Award at the “Downtown Achievement Awards” ceremony. The award recognizes an “out of the box” creative downtown revitalization project that exemplifies a creative approach or solution to a challenge in the downtown. Also singled out for recognition were Dot McKenna, Volunteer of the Year for Main Street Bath, and Mike Fear of Now You’re Cooking, Board Member of the Year for Main Street Bath. Many thanks to Bath’s award winners and all our volunteers and businesses for the many contributions you make to help keep downtown Bath a vital and thriving center for our community!
