Bar Harbor was this year’s host for the Maine Downtown Conference.

125 folks from more than 50 communities joined together to focus on downtown revitalization.

Breakout sessions took place in local businesses around town.

Topics included economic development, tourism and supporting local businesses.

“What it’s really about is networking with people that come from all over the state from state agencies local community development organizations,” said John Kelley, Management Assistant at Acadia National Park.

“For me this is a wonderful opportunity to bring so many communities together to share and to learn from each other to network and to really get that spark going take that back to their communities and teach others,” said Loraine Francis, Program Director, Maine Downtown Center.

It’s the sixteenth year for the conference.

Organizers chose Bar Harbor because of the 100th Anniversary of Acadia National Park.
