The Maine Development Foundation and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce recently released the second installment in the Making Maine Work series - Making Maine Work:  The Role of Maine’s Public University System.  Focusing on the impact of the University of Maine System on the state’s economy and the value of an educated and skilled workforce, this report contains a detailed account of current University System contributions to the State of Maine, as well as “best practices” from other states. Prepared at the request of Chancellor Richard Pattenaude, this report provides tangible recommendations to the University’s leadership, as well as to the governor and the legislature, as they consider how best to invest in the workforce of the very near future.
