The Maine Development Foundation and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce partnered on a research effort to identify the investments and policies that are needed to support long-term economic growth in the state. The foundations of this work include a survey of business leaders on the factors that affect their investment decisions in Maine titled, "Maine Investment Imperative II: Survey With 1,000 Maine Businesses," and a comprehensive review and research piece titled, "Maine Investment Imperative II: Unleashing the Potential."

This work was used to create a discussion paper designed for decision makers with a list of focused executable recommendations titled, "Making Maine Work."  This paper offers an overview of the demographic and economic challenges Maine faces and presents a strategy for overcoming them in order to grow the Maine economy.
