Join us for a virtual recruiting briefing to learn why our ICL and Leadership Maine programs are career and life enhancing. 2023 MDC Annual Awards Celebration

Location: Curtis Memorial Library, Brunswick, ME

Come celebrate the achievements of our downtown communities in 2022. Join us at Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick from 2:00-4:00PM. Awards will be given for the Downtown Hero, Project, and Innovation of the year. This year's event will feature guest speakers, Sarah Hansen (Executive Director, Greater Portland Landmarks) and Cary Tyson (Executive Director, Portland Downtown), as well as an optional tour post-ceremony of the Lemont Block.

MDC Board Roles and Responsibilities

A strong board of directors is built upon clear understanding of basic roles and responsibilities. This session will provide an overview of a board’s primary legal duties, important responsibilities and essential roles in governing the organization and stewarding its mission. Participants will: -Understand why we join boards -Clarify the roles of the board and its responsibilities -Discuss strategies for building and sustaining an effective board
