This year's event is a breakfast festivity and will serve as a kickoff to the 2024 Magnetize Maine conference, hosted by Uplift LA in conjunction with MDF's Realize Maine Network.

Leadership in Action Breakfast: Projects of Passion – Volunteering & Mentoring in Community
Location: Martin's Point Health Care Center, 114 Bath Road, Brunswick
7:30 – 10:00 a.m.
A panel of Alums & volunteer organizations will share their passion for volunteering and mentoring, and the impact it has in their communities, on younger generations, and in their own lives. We will then hold space for alumni who lead these efforts around the state to meet in small groups & one-on-one with Alums interested in becoming volunteers and/or mentors.

2024 Maine Downtown Conference and Annual Awards

Maine Downtown Center is headed to Biddeford & Saco for the first Maine Downtown Conference since 2016! Join us in these two incredible downtowns on November 6th and 7th for educational opportunities and a statewide gathering of Main Street organizations, downtown volunteers, business and property owners, community residents, economic and community development professionals, municipal staff and elected officials, and more. As part of this conference, we will include the MDC Annual Awards Celebration, highlighting outstanding projects, organizations, and individuals in our downtown communities.

Leadership in Action Breakfast: Leading Emerging Sectors

7:30 - 10 a.m.
We will hear from trailblazers in emerging sectors like the Maine Space program, artificial intelligence (AI), green businesses/products, blue (ocean) economy, and the forest economy. We will then do breakout sessions in smaller groups to take deeper dives into how you can engage in these growing sectors, and apply the approaches these leaders are using.
